Host Will Smith was joined Saturday (March 31) by a bevy of stars for Nickelodeon’s annual slime-fest, the Kids’ Choice Awards.

The movie star and MC kicked off the night with a KCA-themed rap that included the first sliming of the night, when buckets of the famed goo fell on the audience, setting the tone for the fun-filled evening. The “Men In Black III” star promised that 2012 would include a record-breaking amount of slime, adding, “No one is safe from the slime.” That included Halle Berry, who was the first celeb to get slimed.

The night’s first presenters certainly brought the kooky factor up a bit. Nicki Minaj was decked out in a candy-colored dress complete with a bustier made out of tickets and bubbles glued to her skirt, as she stood alongside “Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson. The pair handed out the first blimp to Favorite Musical Group winners Big Time Rush.

Real-life couple and “The Amazing Spider-Man” stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone presented the award for Favorite Movie Actor. But before handing the blimp to Adam Sandler, Garfield told the room, “I feel like the luckiest guy in the world, ’cause I got to play my favorite superhero.”

KCA first-timer and “Glee” star Chris Colfer got slimed when he hit the stage to present Selena Gomez the award for Favorite TV Actress. Perhaps Heidi Klum should have shared this advice with him first: Never trust anyone at the KCAs. Decked out in a two-piece, midriff-baring top and sparkly skirt, Gomez also won for Favorite Female Singer. “After no longer doing my show, knowing you guys still watch it means so much,” she said of her now-defunct Disney series “The Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Katy Perry was the first performer of the night. Done up in medieval gear, she flew across the room to the stage, where she broke out into her latest hit single, “Part of Me.” Behind her, dancers were decked out in costumes from the same period. She served as a court performer, singing her scathing breakup track for the king and queen. The performance ended with Katy hitting the king with a pie.

Perry also won a blimp for her work in “The Smurfs,” declaring, “The only reason I’m here today is because I’ve never gown up. I can’t wait to do ‘Smurfs 2.’ ”

Kristen Stewart won for Favorite Movie Actress for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” Beaming in blue lace, she said, “This is, like, the coolest awards show ever. I love Nickelodeon. I liked ‘Doug,’ ‘Rocco’s Modern Life.’ Awesome. I just have to say: Katy Perry’s armor was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Next up, the show got a bit serious when first lady Michelle Obama presented Taylor Swift with the Big Help Award. Swift won the special blimp in recognition of her philanthropic efforts, including work with U.S. tornado and flood survivors and various youth-related charities.

“I’m so honored. I have always wanted to meet you; this is amazing. I am so honored to be receiving this award from the first lady of the United States. I am freaking out,” Swift said. “I’m really proud of all of you guys. I see you helping each other out. I think it’s important you know you are making a difference in this world.”

Taylor Lautner has kicked enough butt and taken enough names on the big screen that he won the blimp for Favorite Butt Kicker. “This is amazing,” he told the room of screaming fans. “Robert, I’m sure you’ll be winning this award next year for ‘Iron Man 3′ and ‘The Avengers.’ ” That Robert he was referring to was presenter Robert Downey Jr., not Pattinson, obviously.

After winning, he was forced to do 1,000 push-ups by Smith. His reward for completing the misson? Getting slimed.

One Direction continued their U.S. takeover with their performance on the show. For “What Makes You Beautiful,” the guys wore all black-and-white while futuristic lights danced behind them. Proving that everyone is a One Directioner at this point, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez danced around in the audience and sang every word of the song, while the fivesome kept girls screaming with their frothy, lighthearted pop track.

The big twist of the night came when Cee Lo Green was revealed as Will Smith’s nemesis, the man dubbed “Creepy Voice.” “Creepy Voice” had spent the night taunting Will, telling him how inadequate a host he is. His reasons? “I’ve always wanted to be slimed,” “The Voice” judge said. “My name is Cee Lo Green. Slime’s green. Slime me!” He didn’t get slimed, but he did get ice-cream-sundaed. Maybe next year, Cee Lo.

After kicking Jaden and Willow out and accusing them of being “Creepy Voice,” he brought his performer kids back out to hand out Favorite Male Singer, the night’s last award. Justin Bieber, fresh from shooting his “Boyfriend” video, took the stage to accept his blimp.

“Right now, I’ve been working really hard on my album, Believe. This album is our album. This [blimp] goes out to all the fans. I love you so much,” he said. In addition to the blimp, with Will by his side, Bieber got über-slimed, with the ooey-gooey stuff spewing out from the stage all over him.

And, with that, the show ended.

One Direction Get Celebs Dancing At Kids’ Choice Awards

‘What Makes You Beautiful’ performance has Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and even first lady Michelle Obama on their feet.

One Direction continued their Stateside takeover Saturday (March 31) at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

And there was no question about their popularity: The piercing screams from the crowd when their performance was announced was enough confirmation. The boys drove the girls even wilder when just their outlines appeared before they kicked into their song “What Makes You Beautiful” and emerged onstage.

Every girl in the audience — including Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale and their posse of ladies — knew all the words and sang along. Even first lady Michelle Obama couldn’t keep herself from clapping!

The guys’ dapper style was in full force, with each member wearing a different black-and-white look. Ginormous white bouncy balls went flying through the crowd throughout the performance, and the OD dudes finished their set by knocking a few of the orbs back into the audience with huge grins on their faces.

Even before their Kids’ Choice performance, it was pretty clear One Direction were making a big impression on America. Just a few weeks ago, OD’s Up All Night made Billboard history by becoming the first debut album by British group to enter the chart at #1, and the album also topped the charts in 15 other countries.

And their U.S. television appearances didn’t begin and end with the KCA: One Direction promoted their first album on the “Today” show earlier this month, and next week, they will be the musical guests on “Saturday Night Live.”

“We obviously get American TV in the U.K., and I’ve watched ‘Saturday Night Live’ before … and ‘Saturday Night Live’ is a big, big deal, everyone knows that. And when we got invited on, we couldn’t believe it,” One Direction’s Niall Horan told MTV News last week. “Again, we haven’t spent a lot of time here, so a lot of people don’t know who we are, so to be invited on such a prestigious American show is pretty amazing.”

‘Mirror Mirror’: The Reviews Are In!

Critics agree the Snow White adaptation is ‘not the fairest of them all.’
By Fallon Prinzivalli

Lily Collins in “Mirror, Mirror”

Photo: Relativity Media

Before it even hit the box office, “Mirror Mirror” was viewed with a critical eye as two Snow White adaptations had announced their release dates a month apart. But with the release of the trailers, it was clear that the two movies were very different. The Tarsem Singh film is a quirky comedy from the vantage point of the Evil Queen (Julia Roberts) over the traditional Snow White (Lily Collins), while “Snow White and the Huntsman” is about the epic battle Snow White (Kristen Stewart) must fight for her life. Unfortunately for those involved in the former, as the reviews pour in, it’s obvious the movie is making critics grumpy.

The Story
” ‘Mirror Mirror’ begins with an impressively animated recap of Snow White’s predicament: Banished to her castle by a wicked stepmother after her father the king disappears, and being played by such a vacantly pretty ingenue as Lily Collins. Collins conveys a properly Audrey Hepburn princess look and the acting range of a runway model.
The damsel’s role is always distressed. The queen has run the kingdom into the ground, funding a lavish lifestyle with escalating taxes.
After sneaking out for a tour of the squalor, Snow sides with the other 99 percent. Their relationship is further strained with the arrival of handsome Prince Alcott.” — Steve Persall, Tampa Bay Times

The Laughs
” ‘Mirror Mirror’ is unfair to people expecting more than a few good laughs. Scenes proceed lethargically, with pauses after punch lines where Tarsem must hope for audience laughter. Anachronistic gags (as when the Prince tells Snow White that he has to be the hero because ‘it’s been focus-grouped — it works’) break whatever luscious spell the art direction and costumery might create. On their first meeting in the woods, the Prince tells the dwarfs, ‘You’re short, and it’s funny.’ Well, the film is shortish (106 mins.) but it’s also epically unfunny. The producers should have handed the script to an actual clever person like Paul Rudnick (‘In & Out,’ ‘Jeffrey’) and told him to send it back in a week, with solid jokes and a buoyant spirit.” — Richard Corliss, Time

Julia Roberts
“Roberts has had exactly one high point (‘Duplicity’) since winning her Oscar in 2000, and she acts here as if simply appearing in a floofy dress is high hilarity. Her ‘playfulness’ seems like work and her cartoony maliciousness is dull. (Charlize Theron, who plays the queen in this summer’s more serious ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’
needn’t fret.)” — Joe Neumaier, New York Daily News

The Visuals
“Singh, whose eye-popping tribute to the Silent Era, ‘The Fall,’ was several years ahead of ‘The Artist’/'Hugo’ curve, never lets his attention waver from the production design — those beautiful, snowy, birch tree forests; the parapets; cliffs; and opulent palace digs. He lets his stars deliver their lines — some with more flourish and wit than others (among the dwarfs, Jordan Prentice and Danny Woodburn get off the best) — but his eye is mostly on the gilt and the silk, the CG-ed skies, and the eerie, iced-over lake that separates the castle from the town.” — Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer

The Final Word
“The whole thing lacks tonal cohesion, lurching from Tim Burton-style comic grotesquerie to underpowered action set pieces to a gratuitously self-referential Bollywood production number on the end credits. The impression is that of a director constantly fighting to put his stamp on material that’s foreign to him, and unable to figure out what that stamp should be.” — David Rooney, The Hollywood Reporter

“Not the fairest of them all.” — Matt Stevens, E! Online

Evanescence, Green Day, Tokio Hotel, My Chemical Romance: Musical March Madness Final Four!

After three weeks of battles, one of these four will take home the MMM title; voting in all Final Four matchups is now open!
By James Montgomery

Well, that was intense. After 48 hours of epic Elite Eight battles, we’ve reached the Final Four of MTV’s Musical March Madness. And while making it this far is certainly an accomplishment, there’s not exactly a whole lot of time to sit around and savor it.

That’s because voting in our Final Four matchups is already under way, and polls will remain open until Sunday (April 1) at midnight ET. You’ve carried your favorite band to the cusp of championship glory, but can you help push them over the top?

Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket!

Let’s take a look at the four bands still standing in MMM: true, tourney-tested squads that have survived three weeks of brutal back-and-forth battles just to make it to this point. In a way, they’re all champions; too bad only one will actually be able to call themselves that.

#5 My Chemical Romance vs. #5 Green Day
My Chem are the champions of the Midwest region, having survived a furious rally from upset-minded Metallica in the Elite Eight (seriously, with more than 600,000 votes cast, MCR won by 400). Meanwhile, defending MMM champs Green Day had to stage a serious comeback of their own against Adam Lambert, who led until late Thursday before succumbing to GD’s full-court press. At this point of the tournament, there truly are no easy matchups, and this one, well, it’s going to be a war. Both bands have been put through the wringer, and both know how to win a close contest; can My Chemical Romance finally take home the MMM title (they’ve been in the Final Four three consecutive years), or will Green Day make history as the first band to repeat as champions? All we can do is wait and see …

#1 Evanescence vs. #12 Tokio Hotel
Speaking of history: Congratulations to Evanescence, the first #1 seed to make the MMM Final Four. They’ve battled hard throughout the tournament, having bested tough foes like Paramore, Linkin Park and Dave Matthews Band just to reach this point. As a reward, they draw perhaps the toughest opponent in the entire field: Tokio Hotel, a band that’s steamrolled their way through the competition. They’ve throttled all challengers and even got revenge (big time) against rivals Coheed and Cambria in the Elite Eight. No two bands have enjoyed as much fan support in MMM 2012, which is why we’re certain this one’s going to be a classic. And not to go out on a limb here, but we suspect the winner of this one may very well be the band hoisting the championship trophy next week. No pressure or anything.

Is your favorite band still alive in the Final Four? Help carry them to the championship — or assist in shattering some dreams — by voting now. Polls close Sunday at midnight, so get cracking — we’re so close to crowning a champ!

Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket!

MTV’s 2012 Musical March Madness tournament reaches the Elite Eight! Voting runs until midnight ET on Thursday, March 29, and winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act is still alive, it’ll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM or by downloading one of our custom badges — but get ready, it only gets more difficult from here on out.

No Joke: ‘American Idol’ Loses Heejun Han

Resident jokester joined by Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine in bottom three.
By Adam Graham

Heejun Han on “American Idol” Thursday

Photo: Fox

The laughs are over for Heejun Han, as this season’s court jester was voted off “American Idol” on Thursday (March 29).

Han, who with his goofball demeanor and off-center sense of humor was criticized heavily for not taking the competition seriously enough, ended up at the bottom of America’s votes following Wednesday’s performance episode, despite earning a standing ovation from the judges for his performance of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song for You.” He reprised the song for the judges in an effort to get them to use their one save for the season on him, but the judges let him go.

“Let the record show that you knew this was coming yourself, you saw it come this week,” Steven Tyler told him. “Unfortunately after talking, we’re gonna have to let you go, man.”

Just 24 hours earlier, Tyler had praised Han for turning himself around in the competition, and Jennifer Lopez reaffirmed his talents, telling him, “You didn’t make it this far by mistake.” Randy Jackson welcomed him back to the competition, telling him, “Finally, the Heejun that we selected came back to us tonight!”

But the 22-year-old from Flushing, New York’s fate may have been sealed following his performance of Billy Joel’s “My Life” the week prior, which was met by a stinging critique from “Idol” mentor Jimmy Iovine. “He came out and disrespected the entire process. His performance was more like four minutes of a bad Adam Sandler movie that goes straight to DVD,” Iovine said, referring to it as a “stunt gone wrong.” “At the end of the day, Interscope has to spend a lot of money on somebody who wins this show, and that’s not it.”

At the time, Han — who landed in second to last place following the performance — defended himself by saying, “I’m not trying to be a star, I’m just really happy where I am.”

Han was in the bottom three Thursday with Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine. Laine was sent back to safety first, and was followed by Cavanagh. It was the first time in the bottom three for both Laine and Cavanagh.

Also on the show, Eric Benet came out to surprise DeAndre Brackensick, who performed his song “Sometimes I Cry” on Wednesday’s show.

Meanwhile, last year’s “Idol” champ Scotty McCreery performed his latest single, “Water Tower Town,” and was presented with a platinum sales plaque by Iovine, signifying 1 million sales of his debut album, Clear as Day.

Nicki Minaj appeared and performed “Starships” and made a pitch to do a guest-judging bid on the show. “J. Lo, can you scoot over a little bit?” she asked, to which Lopez replied, “I don’t know if there’s enough room for both of us up here!”

What did you think of Thursday’s “Idol”? Did Heejun Han go home too soon? Let us know in the comments!

A Semi Story; Next to You; Chapter 19

Selena’s POV I went outside, and unlocked Demi’s car door. I then got in, and put my key into the ignition, and turned on the car. Before I could back out of the driveway, Demi called me on my cell phone. The conversation was short; she just said that she had some money that she had been saving up in the glove department of her car. She told me to get some out, so I can be able to pay for the party supplies. I said okay. Then we said goodbye, and the conversation was over. I looked in Demi’s glove department and looked for the money. I reached around, but I didn’t feel anything. So, I turned on the lights in the car, and I easily saw, rolls of money in the glove department. Wow, Demi must’ve really been saving up. I got out a roll of money, and closed the glove department. I counted the money and it was a thousand dollars, which was more than enough for the party supplies. I got out $300, and then put the rest of the money in the glove department. I got to the closest Wal-Mart in 15 minutes, I went inside, and grabbed a cart. I started walking through Wal-Mart until I found the snack aisle. When I went into the aisle, I saw Joe. It looked like he was debating on what to get. I went up to him with my car, and ran into him playfully. He looked at me, and smiled, "Hey, Sel". "Hey, Joe", I replied then continued, "What’s up". "Nothing much, just going to chill tonight", Joe replied. "Well, Demi and I are having a party, and a lot of people are coming, I’m here now to get some …
